Installation Notes and Special Functions
This is a plug and play unit designed to connect directly to the factory LVDS harness. The unit replaces the existing screen only. No dashboard cutting is required for the screen installation.
The GPS antenna cable for Android GPS does require routing to a suitable location. This may involve minor trimming or routing behind the dashboard. Note: CarPlay GPS does not require the antenna and functions immediately without it.
If the My BMW app shows no signal after installation, check that the LVDS plug from the original screen is connected to the new unit. If the display menu appears in low resolution, navigate to Settings, then Factory Settings, enter access code 666666, select BMW Settings, and choose Automatically Select.
If CarPlay audio is not heard, disconnect your phone from the original BMW Bluetooth pairing and reconnect through the new unit only.
After purchase, contact the seller with your exact vehicle model, production year, and system type (NBT or EVO). This ensures the correct firmware and configuration is prepared before dispatch.
Professional installation is strongly recommended. Incorrect identification of the factory system type (NBT vs EVO vs CIC vs CCC) will result in the unit not functioning.
